Fans of La Cocina de Roberto, the family-owned Latin fusion restaurant chain based in The Woodlands, will be thrilled to learn that the company has announced a new concept restaurant that will be opening in January 2024. Don Chuy is set to Open it’s First Woodlands Location, located on the south I-45 service road just north of Sawdust Road, Don Chuy Tortilleria is poised to give loyal customers of the Rubio family’s hit restaurant chain something new to love.

According to owner Roberto Rubio, “We are so excited to introduce a modern Tortilleria to our customers in The Woodlands.”

Rubio and his family plan to offer delicious and freshly made tortillas featuring a variety of Mexican flavors. Don Chuy Tortilleria will offer two different experiences for customers: fast and convenient pre-packaged meats by pound, tortillas, salsas. as well as a dine option for the customers who want to enjoy their food on site.

When Rubio and his wife Claudia opened their first restaurant in 2017, they believed that great food served in a family-oriented environment would be a success. Today, with two area locations going strong, as well as a thriving catering business and a popular mobile restaurant truck for special events, the Rubio’s belief in The Woodlands and in their approach to the restaurant business has proven to be well-placed.

“These last few years have been wonderful”, reports Rubio, when reflecting on the success of his family’s restaurant chain.  “We’ve gotten to know so many friends and neighbors here in The Woodlands, and we just love our customers.”

“Our motto is ‘Hecho con Amor’”, says restaurant co-owner Claudia Rubio. “Roberto and I really believe that making food with love is the key to our success. Our children and friends work with us, and together we make sure our customers feel something different when they choose one of our restaurants.”
