Sean Smith, MBA & CPA, is a broker with Foldetta Commercial, a full-service commercial real estate company based in The Woodlands, Texas. Founded in 2003, the company provides comprehensive commercial real estate services in The Woodlands, Conroe and Houston markets. Sean’s primary areas of focus (i) owner & tenant representation, (ii) commercial developments including service/flex and multi-use projects and (iii) corporate advisory services.
Prior to Foldetta, Sean spent 14 years at Chicago Bridge & Iron NV (CB&I). For 10 of those years, he consolidated the global Real Estate roles, functions and responsibilities into a single corporate operating unit. As Director of Global Assets/ Real Estate, his group was responsible for: corporate budgeting, strategic portfolio management, transaction negotiations, leases, build-to-suits, sale-leasebacks, 1031 Exchanges, property acquisitions/dispositions, lease expense audits, transaction financial analysis. Sean’s group was responsible for preparing & presenting all real estate transactions to the operating business and executive leadership.
In addition to Director of Global Real Estate, Sean’s roles included Corporate Assistant Treasurer and Business Unit Director of Finance & Business Administration. Sean began his career at Arthur Andersen & Company in the audit division, working in California, Washington and Puerto Rico.
Sean received his Undergraduate degree in Finance at Santa Clara University and his Masters of Business degree from Texas A&M. He is a Texas CPA and a graduate of Leadership Montgomery County (2017).
Sean has lived in The Woodlands area since 2001 with his wife Laury. They have two boys, Jacob and Matthew. He is a board member of his son’s football & baseball booster clubs, and when not working, he is with his family watching youth sports.
Sean M. Smith Broker has been with Foldetta Commercial for almost five years, and his primary areas of focus have been: (i) tenant & landlord representation, (ii) commercial/ industrial dispositions/acquisitions and (iii) land sales & development. Recently, Sean set-up a Self-Directed IRA for himself in order to invest directly in commercial real estate and intends to focus in this area for client’s seeking to utilize their retirement accounts to invest directly in real estate rather than through REITs or other stock market-related investment options/vehicles.
Prior to joining Foldetta Commercial, Sean spent 10 years at Chicago Bridge & Iron NV (CB&I) consolidating the global real estate roles, functions and responsibilities into a single corporate business unit. As Director of Global Assets/ Real Estate, his group was responsible for: corporate budgeting, strategic portfolio management, transaction negotiations, leases, build-to-suits, sale-leasebacks, 1031 Exchanges, property acquisitions/dispositions, lease expense audits and SOX compliance.
In addition, during his fourteen years at CB&I Sean also served as Corporate Assistant Treasurer and later the Director of Finance & Business Administration for a business unit. Sean began his career at Arthur Andersen & Company in the audit division, working in California, Washington and Puerto Rico.
Sean received his Undergraduate Degree in Finance at Santa Clara University and his Masters of Business degree from Texas A&M. He also is Texas CPA and is proud a graduate of Leadership Montgomery County (2017).
Sean has lived in The Woodlands area since 2001 with his wife Laury and two boys, Jacob and Matthew. Sean is a board member for a local non-profit youth baseball organization and when not working, is watching or playing baseball and football with his boys.
